Monday Musings: The paths we choose

I was supposed to be a political maven.  I got a degree in Political Science; scored a paid internship after graduation in our Nation’s Capital; secured a job after said internship.

I was back home a little over a year later because I knew I wasn’t supposed to be wasting my 20s in a cubicle answering to the older, bitter version of me that I would soon become.

Spent a few years on various employment but never finding my niche.

Went back to school to become a teacher.

Have we seen the economy?

There is something wrong in the world when teachers and nurses can’t get jobs.

BUT

I’m ok.  I work at bussling restaurant and earn a pretty good wage.  I am on Executive Council for my local Junior League this coming year and I am planning our three day Leadership Retreat.

Did I mention I like to plan things?

A lot:)

We’ll see where this goes…;)

Have a Beautiful Monday Readers!

I made more money being a waitress/server than I have in any other job I have done. I get along well with people. I love food… cook often and know in many of our memories, food is a part of it.

I was just let go during a bank merger. Go figure. A job I held for 6 years, moving my way up in the company. The economy is bad. I am going to be looking for employment in a restaurant as well. Whatever it takes. Blessings on your journey.

It’s funny how our paths are never how we think they are going to be. I’m definitely learning to roll with it more than I used to!

Good luck with planning the Leadership Retreat!
