Wednesday Wisdom
Introducing a new feature here on La Vita e Bella, Wednesday Wisdom. I am not sure what this will really look like yet but if you have any ideas please feel free to pass them along.
I came across this quote the other day:

If you know me well, you know I never give up on people easily. It is very hard for me to let go of people even when the situation at hand tells me it’s time too. But being a budding teacher this quote really resonated with me. The students I have been able to work with up to this point I have never given up on even some may of advised me I needed too. I have been told too many sad stories of students being left behind. We would all like to think that this only occurs in childhood but unfortunately as adult we have the tendency to leave people behind too. During this difficult time, people cannot give up on one another. So who are you going to help out today?

Fall into Monday…
Happy Monday Readers!
Fall is in the air here in WNC and it is beautful! After buckets and buckets of rain the sun has finally reappeared! October is upon us and I could not be happier! Any of you have any big plans this Fall season? WNC has tons going on which most of you locals know about! If you are not local to WNC, Fall is GREAT time to visit! We’d love to have you!
Anyhow I digress. Life is keeping me busy and It is great. I have one of those personalities that I thrive on being busy and am absolutely miserable if I am not. Now that I have committed to staying in this area I am doing my best to get my foot in the door. My days are full of substitute teaching and tutoring and my night consist of work at The Corner Kitchen and attending networking events. I attended a fabulous event put on by the Asheville City Schools Foundation at Sante Wine Bar. All the wines were from Spain and it was great to meet some new people.
I met a potential “new friend” for coffee at The Dripolator on Saturday and that ended up falling a little flat. A word to the wise: handshakes as a introductory gesture in ANY situation whether it be professional or social are IMPORTANT. Not being willing to shake someone’s hand is a BIG RED FLAG. Oh well…other fish in the sea…

Holy Rain and other Monday Musings
Hello Readers! Happy Monday! It is raining here in WNC! In fact, there are flood warning and I will probably need an Arc to get to work later. Please don’t read that I am not grateful for the rain but there has been a lot of it as of late. I just would like to see this:
In other news, since I couldn’t find a teaching job this year, I am substitute teaching. So far it’s going well. It’s great to have an opportunity to gain experience in my field with all types of students and school settings. It’s reminded me that teaching is the career for me. Next week, I will start as a volunteer with the Asheville City Schools Foundation as an Academic Coach; I am pretty thrilled about this and hope to gain even more experience!
On 9/3 I celebrated my birthday with some of my girls at Rezaz. I enjoyed my dinner and the company of good pals. Here are some pics:
Life is good and wonderful. I realize more and more everyday that the hardships I have endured have only made me a stronger person and I am truly grateful for all my blessings.
